Aug. 22: Temperatures cool thanks to showers, storms

After a round of scorching heat and humidity this afternoon across South Florida, temperatures are cooling off the courtesy of showers and storms. Lows will cool into the upper 70s overnight.

Despite another round of Saharan dust on the move, sea breeze showers and storms could get going in the afternoon Sunday. Some storms could bring gusty winds and heavy rainfall after 1 pm. Storms will gradually diminish after the sun sets. Be sure to remain hydrated. Temperatures will peak in the lower 90s with heat indices topping in the triple digits.
