MIAMI — The City of Miami Fire-Rescue Department is inviting people of all ages to Regatta Park on Saturday for its Fire Expo & Festival, a free community event featuring hands-on experiences, educational demonstrations, family activities and appearances by Miami’s own fire-safety mascot, Sparky the Fire Dog.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3500 Pan American Drive in Coconut Grove

Designed to bring the community closer to its first responders, the festival showcases the lifesaving work of Miami Fire-Rescue through a full lineup of live demonstrations, including a vehicle extrication, a HAZMAT team response, a car fire simulation, a firefighter combat challenge, and a presentation of the department’s fire boat operations.

Families can also enjoy an expansive Fun Zone, featuring a kid-friendly firefighter obstacle course, bounce houses, a rock-climbing wall, face painting, music and a selection of local food trucks.

Children will also be able to meet Sparky the Fire Dog during special appearances scheduled at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Beyond entertainment, the event emphasizes public safety education. Attendees can take part in fire and life safety sessions, CPR and Stop-the-Bleed instruction, and learn about programs including CERT, the MFD Cadet Program, and the MLK Program—all designed to empower residents with essential emergency-preparedness skills and opportunities for civic involvement.

The Fire Expo & Festival is free and open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to interact with firefighters, explore equipment up close, and learn how Miami’s emergency responders keep the community safe year-round.
