This STINKS! Dirty Dining is never fun, but it really stings when one of my longtime favorites ends up on the list.
Sub Center, a Hollywood institution serving subs since 1961, was inspected after a complaint and was temporarily ordered shut. The inspector noted a roach issue.
Sub Center wasn’t alone. Cafe Enclave in Hialeah was also inspected following a complaint and ordered shut after rodent issues were discovered.
Below are the violations cited during those inspections. All of the locations mentioned were later allowed to re-open after a required cleanup and re-inspection.

“Equipment and utensils rinsed after the application of the sanitizer solution. Observed employees are not following the proper sanitizing steps. They rinsed utensils after applying sanitizer. Coached employees on proper sanitizing procedures during inspection.”
“Exterior door has a gap at the threshold that opens to the outside. Observed at front counter door.”

“Ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food marked with a date that exceeds 7 days after opening/preparation. Observed several food containers dated 12/18 on shelves inside walk in cooler.”

“Single-use gloves not changed as needed after changing tasks or when damaged or soiled. Observed 1 employee engaged in food preparation not changing gloves after touching her face at kitchen area. Employee washed hands and changed gloves during inspection. Corrected On-Site.”
“Employee has not received adequate training related to their assigned duties as evidenced by lack of general knowledge in performing their assigned duties. Observed employee did not know how to sanitize utensils properly at front counter.”
