MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Mario Lavandeira, better known as Perez Hilton, remained hospitalized on Saturday, and his condition was “serious but stable,” according to an official family update released on his site.

On Tuesday, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to the 48-year-old celebrity commentator’s home after he was “livestreaming acts of self-harm” on TikTok.

“He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days,” a spokesperson wrote in the Saturday update. “His treatment and recovery will be a long process.”

The family added that his children were safe and cared for and needed privacy.

“We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday,” a spokesperson wrote. “As our family remains focused on Perez’s treatment and recovery, we also need the space and privacy to care for everyone affected by this situation.”
