MIAMI — An 18-year-old man was wearing a ski mask when he used a handgun to hit a victim on the head at a park and steal his phone, according to Miami police.
Cristian Enamorado confessed, and surveillance video showed him robbing the victim who had sat down on a bench on March 2 at Henderson Park, according to a police officer’s arrest report.
“The victim stated he recognized” the voice of Enamorado, whom he had met about three months ago and had “accused” him of “speaking negatively about him,” a Miami police officer wrote, according to an arrest report.
After the armed robbery, the victim followed Enamorado from the park at 950 NW 3 St., in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, until he dropped the stolen phone near Booker T. Washington High School, at 1200 NW 6 Ave., in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood.
A detective identified Enamorado as a suspect, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest, and a detective arrested him on Tuesday at Southwest Fourth Avenue and Fifth Street in Miami’s Riverside area, according to a police officer’s arrest report.
Correctional deputies booked Enamorado on Tuesday night at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He appeared in bond court on Wednesday, and a judge released him on his own recognizance and ordered him to stay away from the victim.
Court records show Enamorado faced a charge of armed robbery with a deadly weapon. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Laura Maria Gonzalez-Marques was set to preside over the case.
