Police: Woman accused of firing Taser at driver in Allapattah

Police officers arrested Raeyana Hamilton on Sunday in Allapattah.

MIAMI — A 25-year-old woman faced a felony charge on Monday in Miami-Dade County, after police officers accused her of firing a Taser at a driver, records show.

A man reported on Sunday in Allapattah that Raeyana Hamilton was a passenger in his car when she used a Taser to shoot him in the neck, according to police.

“The victim stated that he was startled and temporarily overwhelmed by the electrical shock, but maintained control of the vehicle,” a police officer wrote, according to an arrest report.

The man said he stopped the car, confronted Hamilton, and “located a Taser on the ground” that police officers later took into evidence, according to the police report.

Hamilton walked away from the car, and Miami police officers later found her at the Shell gas station at 2698 NW 36 St., according to the police report.

Hamilton “stated she never Tased the victim,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report.

Miami-Dade corrections booked Hamilton on Sunday night at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she remained on Monday.

Hamilton faced a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Her bond was $1,000.
