Caught on Camera: First responders save chihuahua who fell into Florida waterway

SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota Fire Rescue crews helped save a chihuahua who fell into a waterway when her owner went overboard.

“Tinkerbell” was missing for 40 minutes after the group fell into the water near a Sarasota yacht club. Her owner wwas afraid she had tired out and drowned, but thankfully that wasn’t the case.

Body camera released by the Sarasota Police Department showed the moment the officer found her and pulled her on to his boat.

Tinkerbell was stuck perched on top of a piece of wood. The officer reassured her that everything was going to be OK and she warmed up to him.

The small dog was greeted by a man and woman who were friends of her owner.

She has since been reunited with her owner and is happy and healthy.
