Police arrested the child’s mother, Kacy Kincaid, 33, and said she had five grams of fentanyl in her possession and was taken to jail.

According to police, the Medical Examiner’s Office indicated that the child’s death was caused by Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and xylazine toxicity.

According to a report, Kincaid’s blood sample also contained Fentanyl, along with other substances. Officers also said the fentanyl found in Kincaid’s possession was tested and showed the presence of the same Xylazine compound that was found in the child’s blood during the autopsy.

Kincaid is now facing aggravated manslaughter charges.
