KEY LARGO, Fla. — Monroe County law enforcement announced on Monday that a 53-year-old man who was accused of abusing a teenage girl for about two years faced 31 more charges.
Prosecutors opened the case against Christopher Veit after Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the girl in a dryer at his home on June 21 in Key Largo, records show.
The 16-year-old girl told deputies that she was 14 years old when she first connected with Veit on the “Seeking” site and he agreed to be her “sugar daddy,” according to a deputy’s report.
The list of charges Veit faced in Monroe County included possession of obscene material, cruelty toward a child, sexual assault, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Veit first faced charges of kidnapping or false imprisonment, interference with child custody, and unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
Veit was also under investigation in Orange and Osceola counties.
