Woman’s body found floating in Weston lake

WESTON, Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman who was found floating in a Weston lake Monday morning.

Ilba Dickey was 62.

At this point, detectives do not suspect foul play.

Deputies responded to the Visions community of two-story townhouses at 579 Racquet Club Rd. shortly before 3 a.m. The woman’s husband reported her missing and said he saw their dog floating in the lake along with a pair of the wife’s sandals.

BSO’s dive team removed the woman from the lake. Investigators say they did not see any signs of trauma.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The nearby canal flows from the Everglades Wildlife Management Area.
