Man arrested in Lamborghini hit-and-run that left security worker hospitalized

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man accused of being behind the wheel of a Lamborghini SUV that ran over a security worker outside a lounge early Saturday morning has been arrested, police say.

Luis Iraheta, 26, faces a charge of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm in the hit-and-run.

Police say he was driving the Lamborghini that ran over Abraham Valdez, who was working security at the Arena Grill and Lounge in North Miami. A fight spilled into the parking lot and Iraheta hopped behind the wheel, investigators say.

Disturbing video obtained by Local 10 News showed the SUV driving right over Valdez before taking off.

A witness captured cellphone video of police pulling Iraheta and another person out of that car after it crashed into another vehicle as it tried to get away.

Iraheta’s permanent address is listed as being in Lynn, Massachusetts, according to an arrest report.

Valdez, described by friends as a “gentle giant,” reportedly suffered internal bleeding, a crushed pelvis and broken ribs and underwent surgery for his injuries at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

A GoFundMe page has already raised more than $24,000 to help in Valdez’s recovery.
