Unreliable elevators frustrate Lakeshore University Park residents in Miramar

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Residents of building six at Lakeshore University Park Condominium in Miramar were still dealing with an unreliable elevator on Friday.

In March, Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam said public safety “must be maintained” and the elevators needed to be fixed “expeditiously.”

The mayor said the condominium’s maintenance staff told him the delay in one of the elevators was because they needed a part to be manufactured and shipped from California.

“They are estimating four to five weeks for delivery and completion of the job,” the mayor said.

It has been more than five weeks and residents said they are still having to use the stairs because the part hasn’t arrived.

Employees at the main office of the apartment complex refused to answer any questions and did not provide an update in response to the residents’ complaints.
