BSO: 1 person dead after shooting at condo complex in Tamarac

TAMARAC, Fla. — A shooting Thursday morning in Tamarac left 1 person dead, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office.

BSO responded to the Gate Condominiums at 6190 Woodlands Blvd. just before 9 a.m.

The victim was transported by Tamarac Fire Rescue to a local hospital where he died.

Local 10 at the scene spotted a woman with bloodstains on her pants talking to deputies but it wasn’t clear who she was or what connection she had to the shooting.

Neighbors were concerned about finding their complex flooded by multiple patrol cars and crime scene tape wrapping the parking lot. But one resident said he wasn’t surprised.

“There’s always something going on here — either somebody getting in a big accident and dying or breaking into people’s cars or shootings; there’s always something going on,” said Schalee Augustin. “We just got to look over our shoulders and make sure we (are) safe, pretty much. You think Tamarac and North Lauderdale is safe, but it’s really not,” he said.

Homicide investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not released any further details.
