President Biden wants to ‘build a better America’ by rebuilding supply chains

WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden traveled to North Carolina on Thursday, where he talked about ‘building a better America,’ highlighting his efforts to rebuild supply chains.

“Why it is so important to invest in American manufacturing,” Biden said.

His remarks come amid a surge in prices as inflation hit a new 40-year high in March.

“Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has driven up gas prices and food prices across the world,” Biden said.

Biden’s trip to Greensboro comes on the heels of announcing $800 million in new military aid to Ukraine.

In the meantime, one of the Russia’s leading warships sunk Thursday after it suffered serious damage in the Black Sea. Moscow says an onboard fire caused munitions to explode, but Ukraine claims their military hit the ship with cruise missiles.

“We’re not quite exactly sure what happened here. We asses there was an explosion, at least one explosion. Any potential visit (to Ukraine) you would have to have security concerns, and we certainly wouldn’t do it if we couldn’t meet those concerns,” Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said.

The explosion caused 500 on board to evacuate as the commander-in-chief faced questions about a potential U.S. visit to the war zone.
