Miami-Dade firefighters continue to battle warehouse fire

DORAL, Fla. – Firefighters responded to a warehouse fire in Miami-Dade County on Thursday morning.

Sky 10 was above the scene as smoke was billowing from the building near 6995 Northwest 46th Street.

Flames could be seen coming from the bottom of the warehouse where firefighters were battling the blaze on the ground.

The owner of the building says this could have been started by a spark from a forklift inside, but this information has not been confirmed yet.

“The fire is ongoing and it still is under investigation, once we extinguish it. Upon arrival we had heavy fire coming out from the bay, of the two-story warehouse that contains paper products and hazardous materials, propane tanks. We had some difficult access to it, heavy fire bowing out from the bay doors and we are still in the process of trying to extinguish it,” Division Chief, Michael Eng said.

Officials said all crews are working a defensive attack to put the fire out.
