Migrants intercepted in waters off Dania Beach by U.S. Coast Guard

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – A group of migrants were stopped by the U.S. Coast Guard off the Florida coast Saturday morning.

According to authorities, a makeshift vessel carrying an undisclosed number of migrants were intercepted in the waters off Dania Beach.

It happened at approximately 8:15 a.m.

The Coast Guard did not specify where the migrants came from, but in a tweet, tagged U.S Embassy in Havana, Cuba.

Officials said no medical concerns were reported by any of the people aboard the boat.

The vessel eventually washed ashore near the Dania Beach Pier.
