Woman in Pembroke Pines celebrates 100th birthday

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — A Pembroke Pines woman celebrated a century of life on Tuesday.

Alice Brannock marked a major milestone as loved ones gathered for her 100th birthday celebration.

They honored her special day by throwing a birthday bash at her home, which doubled as a Fourth of July celebration.

The centenarian shared her secrets to a long, healthy life.

“Laugh a lot and don’t let anything bother you -- no stress,” she said. “I’m very, very blessed and very fortunate.”

Brannock moved to South Florida in 1953, where she raised four children and worked her dream job in cosmetics.

Her family says she is smart, very positive and always makes them laugh.
