Police said the victim was parked at a friendā€™s house while waiting for 35-year-old Kristopher Exile, also known as ā€œChucky,ā€ to show up to discuss a delay with his car engine that was being repaired.

Shortly after Exile arrived at the home, an argument ensued with the victim, which then escalated to physical violence, according to the report.

Police said during the argument, Exile retrieved a metal bat from his dark-colored Infiniti SUV and then struck the victim approximately seven times with it.

According to investigators, Exile struck the victim in the head, neck and leg, and about three times in the back.

A witness told police that they were able to stop Exile from striking the victim before he fled the scene.

Authorities said the victim was unconscious for a brief period, but was able to get up and run to a safe location to contact police.

After the victim ran away, police said surveillance video shows Exile going into the victimā€™s vehicle.

The victim told police that there were several items missing from his vehicle after the incident.

Authorities said the victim spent approximately 48 hours in the hospital due to his injuries and later identified Exile in a photo lineup.

According to detectives, Exile was stopped in a parking lot near the 3500 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue Tuesday night by Miami police, who detained him until North Miami Beach police officers arrived.

He was then transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where he is being held without bond.

According to jail records, Exile is facing one count of attempted second-degree murder and burglary.
