Police: Woman arrested after shooting man at Miami-Dade busway

NARANJA, Fla. – A 34-year-old woman was arrested Thursday, two days after she shot a man at a busway in Miami-Dade County, authorities said.

According to her arrest report, officers were called to the area of Southwest 264th Street and the busway in Naranja around 11 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a man being shot.

Miami-Dade police said officers arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the left flank area.

The victim was transported to Jackson South Medical Center in stable condition.

According to the report, on Wednesday, the victim identified Alexis Washington, who is homeless, in a photo lineup as the person who shot him.

Police said she was located the following day and was arrested on charges of attempted murder, use of a firearm while committing a felony and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police said she provided detectives with an alibi, however her statement was redacted from the publicly released report.

As of Friday afternoon, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in lieu of a $22,500 bond.
