MIAMI – A 28-year-old man was sleeping at a Metrorail station in Miami and chaos followed when a security guard woke him up and asked him to leave, according to police.

Khalili Denzel Tripp punched the security guard who stopped him from boarding a train on Friday night at a Civic Center station platform, according to a police report.

After a second security guard and police officers responded, the witnesses reported Tripp said, “There is going to be a mass shooting up in this [expletive]! Watch!”

Once in the police car, Tripp, who is homeless and unemployed, kicked the windows and banged his head against a partition, according to a police report.

Miami-Dade correctional officers booked him on Saturday morning at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and he remained there on Monday afternoon.

Tripp’s arrest record in Miami-Dade County goes back to 2016 when he was accused of domestic violence. He had a Nov. 17 battery case with the Miami Police Department pending when he was arrested, records show.

Tripp is facing charges of aggravated battery on an official employee, threat to a public servant, written threats of a mass shooting or terrorism, resisting an officer with violence to his person, and trespassing, records show.
