Port Everglades shipping firm worker in ‘very serious’ condition after crush injury

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Medics rushed a worker at a Port Everglades shipping firm to a local hospital after he suffered a crush injury Monday, according to fire rescue officials.

The incident happened just after 1 p.m. at 1300 Eller Drive, listed online as the headquarters for SEACOR Island Lines.

A Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesperson said crews took the worker to Broward Health Medical Center as a trauma alert patient. He was in “very serious” condition as of Monday afternoon, officials said.

Authorities haven’t yet said what the worker was crushed by.

According to Broward County property records, the SEACOR facility is owned by Port Everglades Partners LLC and is located within the Dania Beach city limits.

SEACOR, according to its website, ships goods to and from the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands.
