Investigators solve mystery of body found in Broward canal

PLANTATION, Fla. – A 40-year-old man crashed and the impact propelled his body to fall in a nearby canal, according to the Florida Highway Patrol on Sunday in Broward County.

FHP troopers found his crashed motorcycle on the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike on Thursday, but there were no signs of the man’s body.

Plantation police officers later found the man dead in the nearby canal on Saturday and announced on Sunday that the man was the owner of the crashed motorcycle.

The crash remained under investigation on Sunday evening. Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
