Father begs for answers after son’s murder in Broward

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – Through tears, Joseph Fonseca asked for answers and justice after his 19-year-old son Bryan was recently killed in January in Broward County.

Fonseca said his troubled son had recently moved out of his house after refusing to follow his rules, but he did not deserve to be killed.

“It hurts! It hurts! Every time I talk about him. Every time, I remember him, every time, I realize I’m not going to see my son anymore, it hurts,” Fonseca said, later describing Bryan as a “fun, nice, happy kid, who was the party of the house.”

About three weeks ago, Bryan was in a Mercedes Benz near Northwest Ninth Avenue and 43 Street in Deerfield Beach when two men approached him and one shot him in the neck.

“He was in a coma for two weeks and as soon as he passed away he was brain dead,” Fonseca said.

Detectives have surveillance video in the case and the investigation was ongoing on Tuesday.

Fonseca said he had a message for the men who ambushed Bryan: “Somebody is going to find out who you guys are, and if you regret what you did turn yourself in because one day they are going to find out who you are and they are going to catch you.”

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493
