MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Residents of a southwest Miami-Dade neighborhood are on edge as police continue their search for what they are calling a serial groper.
Some of those who live in the area said they’re not sure what to think of the string of groping incidents they’ve heard about close to their homes.
“For years nothing like this has ever happened,” said resident Zaida Vargas. “Officially the police hasn’t come over to tell us that there’s something going around. My son has been looking out.”
Multiple victims have come forward and spoke to Local 10 News, saying they first notice a car following them.
Video evidence of several incidents back that information up.
In one video, a car is following a woman as she’s jogging. Eventually the driver pulled over.
“The guy got out of his car and was running full speed at me with the shirt wrapped around his head,” said the victim, who asked not to be identified.
Officers said they are following several leads.
Police are asking anyone with information on any of the incidents to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
