Deputies arrest suspect after pursuit

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies with long rifles and tactical gear responded to a stabbing on Monday morning in Deerfield Beach.

Deputies surrounded a house along Northeast 44 Street, between Third and Sixth Avenues in the Pompano Beach Highlands neighborhood.

Deputies at the scene said they had caught a male suspect after a pursuit. A suspect was in handcuffs on the back of a BSO sports utility vehicle.

The stabbing stems from a dispute among roommates, according to the initial report from police scanners that the department’s spokesperson had yet to confirm.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
