Motorcyclist dies, bike catches fire after crash along busy Miami highway

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – First responders in Miami-Dade County rushed to the scene of a motorcycle crash on Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man riding a motorcycle lost control while trying to enter State Road 836 westbound from Northwest 42nd Avenue in Miami.

The motorcycle struck a guardrail, causing the driver to be ejected and the motorcycle to catch fire.

Troopers said the motorcyclist died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Crews arrived to extinguish the blaze just before 10 a.m.

The fire caused the temporary closure of the on-ramp to State Road 836 westbound.
