Divers search for drowning victim in Miami River after witnesses report fall from boat

Investigators surround white boat after witnesses say victim fell into the river Saturday afternoon

MIAMI — The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Miami and Miami-Dade fire rescue personnel responded to the search for the body of a drowning victim on Saturday.

Witnesses told police officers the victim had fallen from a white cabin cruiser boat and vanished. Police officers were questioning witnesses at the Miami River.

The search involved specialized divers. The Coast Guard also assisted.
