PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — As South Florida residents and visitors prepare for Easter celebrations, a new discussion is focusing on something many people experience daily — stress.
April is National Stress Awareness Month, and with gas prices rising, along with the cost of living and fluctuating inflation, many people are feeling the pressure.
According to a Harris Poll of more than 3,000 adults, 62% report living with stress. While stress can be caused by a variety of factors, including anxiety and burnout, it can also take a toll physically and mentally.
However, not everyone views stress negatively. Some say it can serve as a motivator, helping people push through challenges, meet deadlines and achieve goals.
It often depends on the source and severity of the stress. Everyday pressures may encourage productivity, but more serious stress — such as concerns about health or loved ones — can weigh heavily on individuals.
