Feds investigate single-engine plane crash landing in Florida

The Federal Aviation Administration was investigating the cause of a small plane’s crash landing without injuries on Saturday morning in southwest Florida’s Lee County.

Cape Coral Fire Department personnel reported responding at about 10 a.m. to the area of Gator Circle and Vogiantzis Parkway in northeastern Cape Coral.

Images from the ground and air show they used foam to surround the single-engine Bellanca Super Viking 17-30A. The pilot wasn’t injured, according to CCFD.

The pilot had departed from Pine Shadows Airpark in North Fort Myers without passengers and reported an engine malfunction before the emergency landing.
