Broward serial thief of window accordion shutters in police custody

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies were set to release a man from jail in Fort Lauderdale who detectives accused of stealing window accordion shutters from houses in Broward County.

Detectives believe surveillance video shows Marcio Madureira in action at houses on Feb. 5, in Pompano Beach and on Feb. 3, in Deerfield Beach, according to a police arrest report in the case.

Officer Chasten Peterson arrested Madureira, 45, of Pompano Beach, shortly before 11:40 a.m., on Monday, in Deerfield Beach, according to the police report.

Broward County court records show Madureira, also known as Narcio Rodriguez, is from Minas Gerais, a state in southeastern Brazil.

Madureira is facing four counts of grand theft, burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, and causing property damage during a burglary, inmate records show.
