MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 41-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting at a business in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.
The shooting was reported around 8:50 a.m. that morning at the Presi Stop 24 Hrs corner store, located at 9203 NW 22nd Ave.
According to the suspect’s arrest report, the victim, Patrick Zamor, 48, was inside the store speaking with people when Myron Hawkins entered the business, pulled out a gun and shot Zamor once in the head.
He then fled the scene in an unknown direction, authorities said.
Miami-Dade police said a perimeter was established and Hawkins, who is currently homeless, was eventually located and detained.
Zamor, meanwhile, was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Hawkins was arrested on a first-degree murder charge.
A motive for the shooting remains unknown.
As of Thursday morning, Hawkins was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
