Ford Fusion damaged during shooting in Homestead

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A blue Ford Fusion with bullet holes on the door and windshield was abandoned on the side of the road after a shooting on Friday in southern Miami-Dade County.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 9:40 a.m., at the Ronald Reagan Turnpike, west of the Homestead Air Reserve Base.

Troopers surrounded the Ford Fusion parked on the emergency lane, along the southbound lanes of the Turnpike, near the exit to Campbell Drive, in Homestead.

Miami-Dade police officers also responded.

A tow truck responded at about noon, and troopers closed one southbound lane on the Turnpike.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
