15-year-old driving BMW hits, kills cyclist in Broward County

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ Broward County deputies are investigating after they say a 15-year-old driving a BMW hit and killed a cyclist.

It happened on Monday near the 2900 block of West Sunrise Boulevard in the unincorporated Roosevelt Gardens section of central Broward County.

According to deputies, the boy was driving a 2020 BMW 430i sedan on Sunrise Boulevard when he struck a man riding a bike.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the bicyclist deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene and began an investigation; deputies said the driver returned to the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

Deputies havenā€™t publicly identified the cyclist.

Authorities have not announced any arrests or said whether theyā€™ve determined fault.
