Video shows police take down dangerous driver on busy I-95

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Newly released video shows the dramatic takedown of a reckless driver on Interstate 95.

Troopers performed a pit maneuver on the vehicle before pulling the driver out of her car on Friday afternoon in the northbound lanes of I-95 near the Hollywood Boulevard exit.

The driver behind the wheel of the BMW is seen in the video weaving in and out of lanes and cutting people off.

She used no signal and showed no regard for other people’s safety, authorities said.

In the video, troopers are seen making several attempts to get her to pull over, but the driver just takes off.

It wasn’t long after the chase moved from Miami-Dade to Broward County that two Florida Highway Patrol troopers made their move.

A pit maneuver brought the chase to an end, but the suspect vehicle crashed into a red SUV with two innocent people inside.

Police booked 34-year-old Jacqueline Maxson into jail on charges that include reckless driving, fleeing and eluding and resisting an officer.

But before being taken to jail, she complained to troopers about how they treated her and then told them she was hot.

Maxson then cried when she was asked why she did not stop.

“I don’t know, I just wanted to go fast,” she is heard saying in the video. “I was just trying to go to Easter Sunday.”

Maxson has since bonded out of jail.
