Man accused of sexual battery in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 44-year-old man stands accused of sexual battery in Miami-Dade County, and he appeared in court on Saturday.

Jose Martinez appeared before County Circuit Judge Daryl E. Trawick after his arrest on Friday for battery and sexual battery without serious injury.

Martinez has a long arrest record in Miami-Dade that includes cases for domestic violence in 2014, theft in 2021, and burglary of an occupied dwelling in 2022.

County records show correctional officers booked Martinez at about 4:20 p.m., on Friday, at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He was at the Metrowest Detention Center on Saturday afternoon.

Trawick denied Martinez bond for the sexual battery and $1,000 for the battery charge. The judge also ordered him to stay away from the victim.
