Tribute to Teachers: Lauren Thibert helps students in ‘deaf or hard of hearing’ program

PLANTATION, Fla. — Lauren Thibert has been a teacher at Peters Elementary School in Plantation for about seven years. She is a star of the Broward County Public Schools’ Deaf or Hard of Hearing program.

“I do love being a teacher; I love my students,” Thibert said.

Thibert is among the five honorees of the sixth annual Tribute to Teachers, a WPLG-Local 10 News community campaign in South Florida.

The Tribute to Teachers nomination process was in April and judges selected the finalists. Robyn Hankerson-Printemps, of Publix Supermarkets, handed Thibert a reward.

The Peter Elementary School students, teachers, and administrators cheered when Hankerson-Printemps gave Thibert a $1,000 gift from Publix Supermarkets.
