POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Officials responded to reports of a migrant landing in Broward County.
It happened Monday evening in Hillsboro Beach.
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol confirmed agents were investigating a “maritime smuggling event.”
Local 10 News obtained video of several people -- men and women -- being taken off of a boat and onto a U.S. Coast Guard boat and being searched.
A helicopter was overhead for about an hour as authorities appeared to be searching for someone.
Officials have yet to provide any details about the investigation.
