Police: 2 dead after shooting in Hallandale Beach

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — Police officers and fire rescue responded to a shooting report early Wednesday morning at a beachfront residential tower in Hallandale Beach.

A SWAT Team also responded to the 45th floor of the Beach Club Tower II at 1830 South Ocean Drive. Witnesses said they heard a helicopter flying near the building.

According to the Hallandale Beach Police Department, a man and a woman died after a shooting that detectives described as “an isolated incident” and a “double homicide.”

Police did not say whether they were seeking any suspects or persons of interest. The crime scene appeared to extend to an apartment’s balcony.

One neighbor told Local 10 News he heard between 10 and 12 shots early Wednesday morning.

“I heard the shooting, then after a few minutes the police came,” said neighbor Max Braemdlim. “We heard screaming, it was scary.”
