SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. — Sunny Isles Beach police officers asked hundreds of tourists to disperse after they crowded an area of the beach on Friday.
Police officers responded to the beach near Collins Avenue and 174 Street with bullhorns to shout orders at the crowd about “non-permitted gatherings.”
Witnesses said several spring break tourists were stumbling around, including a teenage girl who fell on the sidewalk nearby. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded.
Police officers in Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale were also on high alert this weekend.
