MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double shooting that occurred Thursday night in southwest Miami-Dade.
According to authorities, deputies responded to the 19200 block of Southwest 376th Street just before 10:15 p.m. after receiving reports about a shooting.
Deputies said they found a woman and man at the scene who had been shot.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and a gun was found next to his body, authorities said.
According to deputies, the man’s wife was airlifted by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to an area hospital in critical condition.
Neighbors identified the couple to Local 10 News as Karla Toscano and Javier Perez. They said they were shocked to hear about the apparent attempted murder-suicide as their neighborhood is typically quiet.
The MDSO Homicide Bureau has assumed the investigation.
No other details were immediately released.
