MIAMI – A man is facing an attempted murder charge after Miami police said he shot another man in the foot after honking at him for “taking too long” to back into a parking spot at an Airbnb in the city’s Wynwood neighborhood.
Police arrested Anthony Christopher Russian, 29, of Tampa, on Wednesday in connection with the April shooting.

An arrest report states that officers received a ShotSpotter alert at around 11 p.m. on April 11 and responded to the Wynwood Boutique apartment building at 541 NW 33rd St., when a woman variously identified as the victim’s wife or girlfriend, flagged them down.
It states that she led officers to the victim in their Airbnb unit in the building and they found him bleeding from his right foot. The man was staying there with the woman and his cousin.
According to the report, he told investigators that he was trying to back his pickup truck into a space at the building — “too narrow” for the Toyota Tacoma — when a man later identified as Russian pulled up in a Porsche Macan “and began to honk at the victim to hurry him up.”
When the victim parked, police said he asked Russian why he was honking at him. He “stated to the victim that he was taking too long,” according to the report.
Authorities said when the victim approached Russian, he pulled out a gun, “aimed it at the victim’s torso and pulled the trigger.”
The gun malfunctioned, police said. After cycling the slide to chamber around, the gun malfunctioned again, the report states.
As the victim walked away to his Airbnb unit, police said he “heard a gunshot and immediately felt a burning sensation on his right foot.”
He would eventually take himself to Jackson Memorial Hospital after police and fire rescue crews arrived and he declined an ambulance ride, the report states.
Authorities said he later picked Russian out of a photo lineup.
Police said they found him Wednesday at Fifth Street and Collins Avenue on Miami Beach and took him into custody; he declined to speak with officers.
A Miami-Dade judge ordered Russian to be held without bond on the attempted murder charge Thursday. He also faces a charge of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
