Miami police arrested Luis Acosta-Barbon, 59, in connection with the Feb. 5 stabbing, which occurred outside of Cacique Restaurant, located at 112 W. Flagler St.

Acosta-Barbon faces a second-degree murder charge in the case.

According to police, Wilfredo Clemente Campo Alegre, also 59, was found bleeding on the sidewalk after an argument with the suspect over money.

Surveillance video shows the men arguing before they were involved in a physical altercation.

Campo Alegre is later seen falling to the ground as a man, identified by police as Acosta-Barbon, flees the scene on a white electric scooter.

The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Police said Acosta-Barbon was initially arrested in March on a charge of resisting arrest without violence.

They said they questioned him and he denied knowing the victim, but made an admission which was redacted from the report after being shown CCTV footage.

An arrest report states that Acosta-Barbon still ā€œdenied having an argument with anyone.ā€

As of Thursday, he was being held without bond in the Metrowest Detention Center.
