Video from Sky 10 Monday afternoon showed crime scene tape up at a bus stop near Southwest 107th Avenue and at a nearby TD Bank branch near 112th Avenue.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies said they were sent to the latter location at around 10:35 a.m. after receiving reports of a man armed with a knife.
Deputies took a man, identified Tuesday as Jorge Eduardo Pau-Figueroa, into custody after arriving at the Southwest 112th Avenue scene, they said.
According to an arrest report, Pau-Figueroa, 33, of Miami, stabbed two men who were known to him after they had gotten into an argument.
Deputies said the argument escalated and Pau-Figueroa pulled out a knife before cutting one victim, Raphael Crespo Herrera, 43, “on his extremity” and stabbing the other victim, Rodolfo Torres Rodriguez, 58, in the head.
Medics took the two victims to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. Deputies said Crespo Herrera was stable while Torres Rodriguez was initially listed in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 11:32 a.m. Monday by an ER doctor, the report stated.
Details about what led up to the initial argument were not disclosed in the arrest report.
Pau-Figueroa faces charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
As of Tuesday morning, Pau-Figueroa was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records listed his bond as “to be set.”
