HIALEAH, Fla. – A Hialeah police officer and another driver were hospitalized early Friday morning after a crash involving a police cruiser and a black Cadillac, authorities confirmed.

The collision happened around 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of East Fourth Avenue and East 18th Street, according to Hialeah police.
Preliminary findings indicate the Cadillac was traveling westbound on East 18th Street when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign and crashed into the marked police unit, authorities said.
They said both the officer and the Cadillac driver were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center with injuries. Their conditions were not immediately released.
No other details about the crash were immediately released.
