Boy, 9, pulled from Fort Lauderdale pool revived after CPR

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized Saturday after being found unconscious in a residential swimming pool in Fort Lauderdale, authorities confirmed.

Fort Lauderdale police and fire rescue crews responded around 12:30 p.m. to a home in the 5700 block of Northeast 18th Avenue, where the child was discovered in the pool and not breathing, according to Frank Guzman, a spokesperson with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.

Guzman said emergency crews performed CPR at the scene and the boy was revived and breathing before being taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

No additional details about the incident were immediately released.
