The closure, troopers said, was part of a “follow-up investigation for a fatal crash” from Tuesday. Authorities said it happened around 11 p.m. when the driver of a black Audi struck a man crossing the highway, killing him; troopers said they are not looking for the driver.

I-95 closed at Northwest Eighth Street for about an hour and a half beginning at 10 a.m., troopers said.

Drivers were onto Northwest Third Court and can reenter the highway at Northwest Second Street.

“Drivers should expect delays and, if possible, seek alternative routes,” officials said at the time. “Please drive carefully and follow posted detours.”

Ramps to the Dolphin Expressway and Interstate 395 remained open.

Authorities haven’t identified the man killed in Tuesday’s crash.
