New York man accused of attacking victim with brick during domestic dispute in Key Largo

KEY LARGO, Fla. — A 26-year-old man from Bohemia, New York, was arrested Thursday night in Key Largo after authorities say he hit another man with a brick during a domestic dispute.

Brian Thomas Gardner is facing one count each of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and criminal mischief, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

MCSO deputies said they responded to a residence on Ruby Drive around 9:30 p.m. after receiving a call about a disturbance.

The victim told deputies that Gardner struck him with a brick during an argument related to Gardner’s alleged alcohol use, according to investigators.

Gardner also shattered a glass door with the brick, deputies said.

They said victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. Investigators did not disclose the relationship between Gardner and the victim.

Gardner is set to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on July 29. His bond information wasn’t immediately available.
