Detectives search for driver of gray car involved in hit-and-run crash killing cyclist

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives are searching for the driver who struck and killed a 67-year-old bicyclist on Tuesday night in Miami-Dade County.

Samuel Singletary was riding at about 9 p.m., along Northwest Seventh Avenue, when the driver of a gray car struck him near 95 Street, according to the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office.

Miami-Dade fire rescue personnel rushed Singletary to the Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where a doctor later pronounced him dead, according to M-DCSO deputies.

A witness who was in a white van reported the hit-and-run crash and waited with the victim for deputies and fire rescue to arrive, according to deputies.
