As kids across South Florida soak up the last few weeks of summer, several businesses and organizations have planned events to give many students some much-needed back to school supplies.
Here’s a list of upcoming free school supply giveaways:
- Back to School Bash hosted by Memorial Healthcare and the City of Hallandale Beach
- This free event supports local families with: Free school supplies for the first 500 children (child must be present), Food distribution for the first 300 families and
- Health screenings aboard Memorial’s mobile units
- Saturday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- OB Johnson Park
- 1000 NW 8th Avenue, Hallandale Beach
- Back-to-School Celebration at PAMM Free Second Saturdays
- To celebrate the start of a new academic year, School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, in partnership with PAMM, invites families, students, and educators to a Back-to-School Celebration filled with art, learning, and community connection, helping students begin the new academic year inspired, supported, and ready to succeed. The event will feature the distribution of donated bookbags (while supplies last).

- Back-to-School Bash & After School Fair at The Shops at Sunset Place
- Miami Kids Magazine will host the event for the community and will provide free backpacks (while supplies las), free school supplies, free eye exams and glasses (call 305-856-9830 to schedule). Miami Dade Police Department on site with horses, Autism vehicle, Breast Cancer vehicle, and more.
