FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Newly obtained video shows how four people were injured in a boat crash that occurred on Friday night.
In the video, the vessel is seen crashing into a wall along the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale.
A different angle shows the two boats speeding past a home on 43rd Street before one made a wide left turn and hit the wall.
Four people were thrown from the boat into the water. They were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center by first responders, one as a level two trauma alert, authorities said. Another victim nearly drowned, while two others suffered minor injuries, according to officials.
Local 10 News spoke to a woman who witnessed the crash and tried to help the victims.
She didn’t want to be identified, but said it looked like the boat was coming right at her.
“It was crazy. I was scared to death for the people,” she said. “It was unbelievable, actually.”
Authorities have yet to identify any of the victims involved in the crash, including who was driving and whether they will be facing any charges.
